Shanti Davis (She/Her) - Program Director
Shanti is a visionary leader with a deep commitment to fostering inclusion and community engagement for adults with developmental disabilities. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria, she began her career at the Ministry of Children and Family Development, where she supported vulnerable populations within complex government systems. While impactful, Shanti sought a more hands-on role—one that allowed her to lead with empathy and innovation at the grassroots level.
In July 2022, she joined VCC as Program Director, where she oversees dynamic, person-centred programs that empower participants to build meaningful connections and actively contribute to their communities. Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, creativity, and a belief in every individual’s potential to thrive. Outside of work, Shanti channels her energy into organizing costume parties, hanging with her family, and playing soccer—activities that reflect her joyful approach to life and community.
Luke Bourque (He/Him) - Assistant Director
Luke Bourque’s journey with VCC began as a practicum student through Camosun College, where his dedication and compassion quickly stood out. After earning his Diploma in Community, Family, & Child Studies, he joined the team full-time and has since grown into a confident leader and caring advocate for individuals and their families. In June 2025, Luke assumed the role of Assistant Director, bringing his passion for fitness, commitment to the community, and a strong sense of purpose to the position. He continues to deepen his impact at VCC while pursuing further studies in Social Work.
Roopa Parmar (She/Her) - Support Worker/ Program Facilitator
Since joining VCC in October 2020 as a casual employee, Roopa has grown into a full-time role, bringing both heart and expertise to the team. After graduating from the University of Victoria with a degree in Social Work in March 2021, she officially stepped into her full-time position in September of that year. With a strong foundation in social work, Roopa supports participants and their families in reaching meaningful goals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. Her work at VCC is rooted in connection—where staff and participants engage in shared activities and build relationships within the community. Outside of work, Roopa enjoys staying active at the gym and spending quality time with her dog.
Thomas Pelton (He/Him) - Support Worker/Program Facilitator
Thomas brings a dynamic blend of experience, energy, and empathy to his role at VCC. His journey began with organizing activities for diverse groups—from Scouts Canada to youth sports—where he discovered a passion for community engagement. After traveling post-high school, Thomas pursued his education during the COVID-19 pandemic, earning his Community Support and Education Assistant (CSEA) certificate from Camosun College. He completed his practicum at VCC in 2021 and has been a valued team member ever since. Outside of VCC, Thomas works part-time at Cineplex and enjoys spending time with his pets and tending to his garden.
Eryn McGuinness (She/Her) - Support Worker/ Program Facilitator
Eryn brings a joyful spark and artistic flair to everything she does at VCC. With a passion for creativity and a heart for community, she creates uplifting spaces where participants feel empowered to grow, connect, and thrive. Whether through hands-on art projects or thoughtful engagement, Eryn’s goal is to foster a fun and positive environment that encourages self-expression and success. Her work is guided by the belief that when people feel supported and inspired, amazing things can happen.
Marina Pedersen (She/Her) -Support Worker/Program Facilitator
Marina is a dedicated member of the Victoria Community Connections team, bringing a strong background in linguistics and community support. After studying Linguistics at the University of Victoria for three years, she went on to complete the Education Assistance and Community Support Certificate through Camosun College. Her journey with Victoria Community Connections began with a practicum placement in 2025, where she found meaningful alignment with her values and VCC’s mission. She is now a committed full-time staff member at VCC.
Marina is deeply dedicated to advocacy and emotional support, and she approaches her role with empathy, compassion, and a strong belief in social justice, self-determination, and empowerment. Her goal is to help create safe, inclusive spaces where every individual feels seen and supported.
Outside of work, Marina finds joy in her love for animals and spending time in nature. Her calm presence and thoughtful approach continue to serve her goal of making a positive impact on the people and communities she serves.
Maia Bradfield -Support Worker/ Program Facilitator
Maia is a dedicated Support Worker at VCC, balancing their role with ongoing studies and a passion for inclusive recreation. With a background in afterschool programming and leading outdoor adventures, she brings energy, creativity, and a deep respect for nature to her work. Maia is committed to making the outdoors accessible and enjoyable for all, using a person-centred approach to tailor activities that reflect each participant’s goals and strengths. Her thoughtful programming fosters confidence, connection, and community involvement. Outside of VCC, Maia finds inspiration in art, biking, hiking, and rock climbing—pursuits that mirror an adventurous spirit and love for growth.
Graham Epstein (He/Him) -Support Worker/Program Facilitator
Originally from the UK, Graham’s professional journey began in marine science and conservation, a path that brought him to Victoria, BC. Yet throughout his career, support work has remained a constant and deeply meaningful thread—from his first role as a teaching assistant at a specialist education high school to working in residential care settings across the UK and Canada. In June 2025, Graham joined VCC as a part-time Support Worker, where he now applies his compassion, adaptability, and person-centred approach to empower adults with developmental disabilities to engage actively in their communities.
Outside of VCC, Graham also works as a cook at Fern Cafe & Bakery and spends his free time exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia.
